The Owner of FF1 Number Plate in Malaysia

The identity of the owner of the exclusive “FF1” license number plate has been unveiled, and it turns out to be none other than Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the ruler of Johor.

This information was disclosed on His Majesty’s official Facebook page on Sunday, June 11.

Prior to this announcement, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook had the honor of presenting the “FF1” license plate to Sultan Ibrahim during an audience with him.

The Johor Sultan, known for his passion for unique, vintage, and highly sought-after vehicles, is no stranger to acquiring distinctive license plates.

Back in July 2016, the Sultan acquired the “F1” license plate for a hefty sum of RM836,660. Just a month later, he splurged an additional RM990,000 to obtain the “V1” plate.

Recently, Minister Loke revealed that the special “FF” series of license plates has generated over RM34 million in revenue.

This series has recorded the highest revenue since the JPJeBid system was made available to the public on April 15, 2019.

Among the “FF” plates, the highest bid was placed on the “FF8” plate, fetching RM950,000, followed closely by “FF9” with a bid of RM911,999.

The third and fourth highest bids were for the “FF3” and “FF2” plates, amounting to RM639,000 and RM638,000, respectively.

Loke stated, “We received an incredible response to this series, with a total of 34,032 bidders participating.”

Moreover, within a span of five days, 8,348 bids were submitted for the 9,999 available running numbers.

The launch of the “FF” license plate series commemorated the 77th anniversary of the Road Transport Department.
